  • I am very very very happy that summer has come around. 🙌🏻 #ootd
  • Yesterday’s #ootd for the #EazyDinerFoodieAwards! Tap for dress details 🙌🏻
  • Today’s results! I think I need a protein treatment but curls are still very defined and clumped! Here’s what I used today-
.
🌀 @vilvah_ shampoo
✅Cg Friendly
✅ Pocket Friendly (Rs. 590)
✅ Smells of Jasmine
✅ Minimal Lather, no dryness experiences after using it
✅ Has goat milk which is very moisturising ❌ The scent is really strong - it can get irritating for some especially if you don’t like the scent
🌀 Vilvah conditioner
✅Pocket Friendly (Rs.300 or Rs.580)
✅ Detangles well
✅ Good slip
❓Is not CG Approved - it has a tinyy amount of conditioning esters that in large quantities can build up but I’ve personally not experienced at all, so this isn’t really a ❌ for me. Also, another fav of my @embracethecurl_ hair cream also has some beeswax and it doesn’t seem to build up on my hair too. Either way I usually clarify once a month so it’s all good!
❌ The bottle is very small, if I use it twice a week, for my thickness and length, I don’t think it will last me more than a month! 🤨
.
✅ But honestly, for people under budget, this set us a brilliant option. And easily available in India online! #yay! 🌀 @curlkeeper tweek cream to style (SO good! Look at how it made my curls clump together. I got these from @honestproductshere!)
🌀 @ashbabotanics Gel- Another fav of mine! 💕
🌀 I used a normal narrow comb to distribute the cream, I’ve lost my denman brush unfortunately! But looking at the results - i don’t really mind! 😛 If you want to see how I use that comb, I have a tutorial a few posts below! 🙌🏻
.
I’m going to do a detailed review on them on the blog and YouTube channel soon AND share a discount code with you guys so stay tuned!
.
Psst- I know I keep going MIA here, things have been tough mentally and health wise for some time now and I’m trying to recover and find my feet again. Once things get better, you’ll find me popping up on your newsfeed more often! 🥰💕
  • Half diffused, wet curls! I’ll leave them to dry during work and show you the results in the evening PLUS what I used today- another Indian shampoo, conditioner brand for the win! Stay tuned 🙌🏻🎈
  • So happy wearing single layers again. 😌 #ootd
  • Hello hello 🥰
  • #Dryrefresh with @Jessicurl Rocking Ringlets! It’s so watery that I don’t need to spray water on my hair before. Both this and the @curlkeeper original are brilliant for this, both of which you can get from @honestproductshere ! 😍🙌🏻
.
Just smooth on some on your #waves #curls and shake them around, especially at the crown. You can do this every morning until it’s time for wash day!
.
To make my curls last longer, I either wear a satin hair cap like this or I put my hair into a pineapple (the wonky front side pony you see when I remove the cap) and sleep on a satin pillowcase. I currently love the silk pillow case (100% mulberry) from @beausilkin , you can use my code CURIOUSJALEBI for a discount 👏🏻
.
Protecting your curls at night will reduce frizz on day 2,3 and stop them from getting tangled up. Satin is also great for the skin in preventing wrinkles so #winwin!
.
How do YOU protect and refresh? Btw I have two YouTube tutorials on this that you should check out if you have any doubts!
  • Curls ✅, earrings ✅, watch ✅, questionable eyeliner 😄- I am good to go! Best thing to offset ham hands is a nice watch 😆, don’t you agree?

  • A BIG way to speed up your #curlyhairgoals is to #deepcondition, usually once a week to twice a month, depending on how frizzy, dry, colour damaged or new in the journey you are.
.
👾 Also called as applying a hair mask, deep conditioning intensely conditions your hair, almost X2-3 times as compared to a normal conditioner.
👾 This product adsorbs onto your hair strands (conditioners penetrating hair is actually a myth, check up hair sciency blog for more), smooths down frizzy sections and leaves it super soft.
👾 Deep conditioning is usually done for moisture but some hair masks have protein too, helping in restore damage, improving strength & reducing breakage.
👾Naturally wavy curly hair NEEDS it to remain more defined and frizz free with lesser products.
👾 How to apply Deep Conditioner-
✅ Method 1- After Shampoo (What I did in this video)
🔸 Wet hair and apply your regular shampoo. You can also clarify to remove all buildup.
🔸 Smooth on generous amounts of your hair mask to each section like I’ve shown and finger detangle. Follow up with a wide comb.
🔸 Cover with a plastic shower cap and if you have a heat cap (I use one by @manetain_india ) put that on top of the plastic cap.
🔸 Keep for 30 mins and rinse.
🔸 Style as usual
✅ Method 2- Before shampoo -
🔸This is great for low porosity hair, wavy hair, light, thin curls that feel weighed down easily.
🔸Wet your hair, smooth on the hair mask and comb to remove knots and distribute product.
🔸 Keep under shower cap and a heat cap if you have one for 30 mins
🔸 Rinse it out and shampoo your hair.
🔸 Apply Conditioner (optional) if there is any knots tangles left and rinse out.
🔸 Style as normal.
👾Can you use DIY hair masks?
YES! The easiest DIY HAIR MASK is Conditioner + Honey (1Tbsp) + Oil (1 Tsp) and I’ve used this when I’ve been broke. Works really well! 🙌🏻
.
Do you deep condition? What’s your favourite #dc? I’ve been loving the @sheamoisture weightless hair mask, it’s so moisturising and doesn’t weigh my hair down! Get it from @naturallyyounme & use my code CURIOUS10 for a discount!
  • Had a great time in Vizag with pleasant sunnny weather, visiting old haunts, spending time with my friends, relishing the greenery and flowers. I absolutely LOVE bougainvilleas! Do you?
.
Wore my @danielwellington watch with me of course ✈️, it was nice to see it not buried by sweaters because of Delhi winters!

  • #AskJalebi - It is a very #Indian thing, where people think using a conditioner or leaving it in your hair can cause damage when the exact OPPOSITE happens with #naturallycurly or #wavyhair.
.
♦️Many people have heard this from this mothers and grandma’s leading to fear (especially of hair loss) and skepticism - “it will cause hair fall, it will damage your hair, blah blah”
.
Here’s why this isn’t true ❌ -
✅ A conditioner smoothens the hair. It reduces frizz, dryness, roughness and tames it down which is ESSENTIAL for our hair type.
✅ It reduces the chances of breakage from brittle hair
✅ Hydrated hair will give you longer and healthier hair needing fewer trims! 🙌🏻
✅ Both conditioner and a leave in conditioner will ensure curls remain moisturised for longer, keeping it soft, without knots & frizz free!
✅ Now there isn’t a LOT of difference between a conditioner and a leave in conditioner formulation wise, mostly in consistency (leave in conditioners are usually more watery).
✅ Which is why many curly girls across the world use their conditioner as a leave in.
❌ Now, all conditioners SHOULD NOT be left in.
❌ Products with mineral oils, silicones, high quantities of drying alcohols can over time cause build-up, frizz and damage.
✅ Hence, if you want to leave a conditioner in your hair or use a proper store bought leave in conditioner, use one without such ‘baddies’ or is #CGFRIENDLY
✅ Leaving the conditioner in, is a big part of the technique called Squish to Condish, which is GREAT for wavies and loose curlies since it encourages clumping.
❌ HOWEVER, there is one way it CAN create issues for you - if you apply it to your scalp too often without ever cleansing or clarifying - this could block the hair follicles leading to poor growth.
✅ People think using a conditioner causes more hair fall inside the shower- that is actually because hair is weak when it’s wet and combing after conditioner needs to be done gently with a conditioner that has lots of SLIP (slipperyness)
✅ To avoid this tension on your hair, just detangle and comb your hair with oil before you shower!
