My Favourite Curly Hair Products You Can Get in India

October 3, 2018
favourite curly hair products

So, even after consolidating an entire list of recommended products in India across budgets, many of you just wanted to know my favourite curly hair products. So here you go- all of the below are what I keep going back to or my experience with them has been amazing.

A few of you who have read my old posts will find I may not have included those names here – it simply means I have found better products than them now. 🙂 There are both CG and non CG products – those that are CG Friendly are specified clearly. I currently follow a CG Friendly routine but used silicones previously and still got great results. Find out what CG method means and more in this post.

As I will keep updating this post as and when I find new products I love, don’t forget to bookmark this page and keep checking from time to time. I have also organised them under different categories so that’s it’s easy to look up. Please note that I have included only the ones I have loved a LOT which is why there are so few!

🌸 How To Apply Matrix Biolage Hydrasource 🌸 SWIPE ➡️. 🔹 Video 1 – On freshly shampooed hair, apply generous amounts of the hair mask. Finger comb each section to detangle gently. 🔹 Video 2 – Use combs to remove tiny knots and spread the product uniformly throughout the hair. Rinse it out! 🎉 Can you see how shiny and hydrated my hair is right after rinsing? Love how slippery this hair masque is! 🔹 Video 3- After rinsing when hair is still wet, apply your leave in/curl cream. I’ve used @cantubeauty curl activator cream (review on my blog) and then used my @denmanbrush to define my curls. Then I applied DIY flaxseed gel and combed again. 🔹Video 4- Took a t shirt to ‘SCRUNCH’ my curls and remove excess product. This also encourages curls to form faster. Diffused and VOILA 😍 🌀 with lots of bounce, moisture and shine! . Matrix Biolage Hydrasource Masque review is LIVE on the blog . It is pocket friendly ❤️ and easily available in 🇮🇳 TAP LINK IN BIO

I use many deep conditioners as a normal conditioner hence these are listed together. You can find out the difference in this post.

  1. L’Oreal Paris Hair Expertise Smooth Intense Conditioner– INR 144 – Not CG Friendly
This is a controversial conditioner. It is loved by SO MANY curly women in India following a CG Friendly routine even when it is not CG Friendly. Find out why I and them think its safe to use in a CG routine in my review.
  2. Oriflame Dry & Damaged hair Conditioner– INR 398 -CG Friendly, Has Parabens
An affordable, basic conditioner. I really like the consistency. The only issue is the parabens that is, using them is a personal choice.
  3. Giovanni Smooth As Silk Deeper Moisture Conditioner– INR 990 – CG Friendly
SO GOOD! The quantity may be less but this is brilliant as a conditioner to fight frizz and dryness. Loved using it.
  4. MATRIX By fbb Hydra Creme Intense Ultra Hydra Source Hydrating Masque– INR 490 – Not CG Friendly
The best thing besides it’s hydrating abilities is the quantity you get at such an affordable price. Read my review here to find out why it’s alright to use in a CG routine if you are on a tight budget and want something that will last many months. This can also be used as a conditioner.
  5. Mamaearth Argan Oil Hair Mask– INR 532 – CG Friendly
Another pocket-friendly, CG Friendly hair mask. Read the review here to see why I love it so much!
  6. The Body Shop Rainforest Moisture Hair Butter– INR 995 – CG Friendly
This was my first favourite deep conditioner through which I actually realized the power of intense conditioning. Read more about it here.
  7. Red Rawkyn Clay Hair Mask – INR 2199 – CG Friendly
This is my current favourite. Smells yummy, has the power or kaolin clay and murumuru butter and gives me incredibly defined curls. I will continue to buy this as it gives me results like no other deep conditioner!

Leave in Conditioners

  1. As I am Leave in Conditioner– INR 1800 – CG Friendly
Thin, watery but moisturising – great for people looking for light-weight hydration. Great for wavy hair. And it’s protein free!
  2. Oh So Noughty Intensive Care Leave in Conditioner  – CG Friendly
I love the smell and how light it is! Gives me hydrated curls without weighing them down. I got mine from Curlee Box Subscription
  3. Innersense Sweet Spirit Leave In Conditioner– INR 2592
Another brilliant leave in conditioner, this is what I use in my current curly hair regimen. Since it’s a spray, it can be used both as a leave in on day one and to refresh your curls on day 2,3 etc. Plus it’s made from certified organic ingredients, is cruelty free – read my review here. Use my code CURIOUS10 to get 10% OFF off this and site wide at Naturallyyounme!
  4. TGIN Green Tea Super Moist Leave-in Conditioner– INR 1877 – CG Friendly
Recently got this and loving the results! Makes my curls very springy and bouncy. All I need to do is top off with some cream/gel and I’m good to go. Detailed review on this coming soon.
  5. Mielle Organics – Pomegranate & Honey Leave In Conditioner– INR 1991 – CG Friendly
This leave in conditioner is bomb. It is creamy but gives me a lot of volume in my curls! I need to pair it with a tinyy amount of curl cream and the definition lasts 3-4 days easily. This is also protein free btw. Use my code CURIOUS10 to get 10% OFF site wide at Naturallyyounme!

Curl Creams

  1. Arata Hair Cream– INR 420 – CG Friendly
So good to see Indian companies coming up with CG Friendly products. It’s a thick cream and you need only a little for your curls. Read my review here to see if you should get this for your hair and how I apply it on mine. Use my code CURIOUSARATA & get 15% OFF on orders above Rs.999 on their website. 🙂
  2. Innersense Quiet Calm Curl Control– INR 2592
SO good! I mean I know every product here is good but this is a wonderful, #greenbeauty, clean curl cream. Every ingredient is thought of and has lovely benefits. Read my review here on the line of curly hair products. Use my code CURIOUS10 to get 10% OFF site wide at Naturallyyounme!
  3. Embrace Your Curl Beeswax & Coconut Hair Cream– INR 1,347.07 – Not CG Friendly
This has a tinyyy amount of beeswax which is not allowed in a pure CGM routine. Since beeswax is hydrophobic (repels water) it actually SAVES my hair in high humidity and protects my curls from frizzing up. Use my code PALLAVI for a sweet discount! More about it here.
  4. Cantu Shea Butter Moisturizing Curl Activator Cream– INR 1170 – CG Friendly
I recommend this to everyone in the beginnning, it’s a great product for thick, curly hair. I can always count on it to give me perfect curl clumps. Read more in my review here.

  1. Bounce Curl Light Creme Gel– INR 2243 – CG Friendly
SO BOMB! I love the smell and how much volume it gives my curls. It’s my go-to for date night! You can now get it from both Honest Products and Naturally You N Me (Use my code CURIOUS10 for 10% OFF on the latter)
  2. DIY Flaxseed Gel– CG Friendly
Almost Free! All you need is flaxseeds that costs hardly INR 100 and it works incredibly well. – CG Friendly
  3. Arata Hair Gel– INR 420 – CG Friendly
If you can’t make DIY flaxseed gel, this is the best alternative. Use my code CURIOUSARATA & get 15% OFF on orders above Rs.999 on their website. Read more about this brilliant liquidy gel in my review.
  4. Innersense I Create Hold Gel– INR 2592
This is unline any other gel I have ever seen or used. The trick is to emulsify it in your palms before applying and not combing after using this gel or it breaks the curl clumps. Read my review here to see my detailed review. Use my code CURIOUS10 to get 10% OFF site wide at Naturallyyounme!
  5. Ecostyler Gel (Pink)– INR 1180
One of my initial favorites! Read my review here.

  1. Righteous Roots Rx Hair Oil– INR 1800 – CG Friendly
Such an incredible blend of oils! Read my review and how to use this in 10 different ways for healthier, longer hair! I also love how easy it is to apply this on my scalp. It also has a very nose-clearing smell – sorta like clears your head, if you know what I mean.

  1. Kent Unique Waterproof Scalp Massage Shampoo Brush– INR 400
Use this on your scalp after shampooing, co washing or oiling. It’s helps to increase scalp’s blood circulation and removing stubborn dirt, flakes, especially when you use a cowash.
  2. Evolve Naturally Satin Bonnet Sunset– INR 817
Use this to protect your waves and curls at night! Watch my video tutorial here to learn how I do it.
  3. Denman Medium Hair Styling Brush– INR 895

Great to hear that the posts are helping! Do you condition the crown part? Apply any leave in or cream their? Do you also deep condition once a month? Would recommend you don’t avoid that area completely with these products, smooth on some cream or gel on the crown (not too much that it drips to your scalp) when your hair is wet.

Thank you Anju! So shampoo, conditioner, detangle, rinse with a technique called SOTC or Squish to Condish. On wet hair, then apply a light leave in conditioner like Innersense leave in conditioner spray, As I am leave in conditioner followed with a good gel (you can start with DIY Flaxseed Gel).

Smooth on the leave in, don’t comb after that just scrunch. You can also do “finger coiling” for fatter clumps.
      Diffuse for more volume!
