L’Oreal Paris Smooth Intense Conditioner Review

The L'Oreal Paris Smooth Intense Conditioner Review

The L’Oreal Paris Smooth Intense Conditioner was the most popular, inexpensive conditioner that many curly girls in India used if they want to avoid silicones. It was controversial because it wasn’t CG Friendly because of an ingredient called Isopropyl Alcohol. However, this product is no longer manufactured. Please see this list for alternatives herePocket-Friendly Conditioners for Curly Hair in India

Description:

L’Oreal Smooth Intense Smoothing Conditioner nourishes and smoothes your hair from root to tip making it look more smooth & manageable. The texture and the shine of your hair is renewed.

Ingredients:

Water, Behentrimonium Chloride, Stearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol, Palm Oil, Glycerine, CI 19140, CI 14700, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Hydrolysed silk, Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Chlorhexidine Dihydrochloride, Camelina Sativa Oil, Limonene, Linalool, Benzyl Salicylate, Benzyl Alcohol, Isopropyl Alcohol, Octyldodecanol, Citric Acid, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Citronellol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Amyl Cinnamal, Fragrance
Loreal Smooth Intense Conditioner Ingredients

Is It CG Friendly:

This is where it gets slighlty iffy. It has no silicones & parabens so no buildup but it does have Isopropyl Alcohol which in a pure CG routine, you’d avoid. The only thing is that this ingredient is at the end of the list so it’s quantity will be extremely less (The ingredients at the top of the list have the highest quantities in the product & decreases as you go down the list).

If you’re trying to follow CG & are unable to either afford or get more expensive CG Friendly conditioner, this is as close as you’ll get under just Rs.200.

I personally think it’s safe to use in a CG routine. However if you find this does not suit your hair, switch to another conditioner. It’s important to hear what your own hair says about a product.

Price:

Rs.145- Rs.170

Pros:

  1. Incredibly easy to find this in offline stores in India, and not just the metropolitan cities.
  2. No silicones so no buildup on your curls!
  3. Really creamy consistency which is great for detangling
  4. Hydrates my curls well

Cons:

  1. If you have hair that is sensitive to protein, it might not suit you as it has hydrolyzed silk.
  2.  It doesn’t last me more than 3-4 weeks. But for its price, I don’t really mind!

How To Use:

After rinsing off your shampoo, take a generous amount and smooth it onto the length of your hair. Finger detangle gently & then use a wide-toothed comb to spread the conditioner evenly. You can see the video below to watch how I do this step.

Many girls use this to co-wash but I personally think it’s too thick to co-wash your scalp. Will not recommend this step with the L’Oreal Smooth Intense conditioner for low porosity curly hair.

Will I Buy This Again:

Yes. It suits my curls really well.

Rating:

8/10

    • Use any CG Friendly conditioner watered down since most CG Friendly leave in’s are above Rs.500/ You can also try ustraa hair cream which is pocket friendly

  1. Can you review: Loreal Paris extraordinary Clay, purifying and hydrating conditioner. Please. Thanks 🙂

    • Hi Suchi, that is not CG Friendly, that is, it has silicones. Staying away from them unless absolutely required 🙂

  2. Hi Pallavi! I suppose at this quantity it makes for a good, pocket-friendly leave-in, don’t you think?

    • Yes, many curlies use it as a conditioner and a leave in when they have a small budget!

  3. My hairs are less curly than u so plz suggest that shoud i use loreal smooth intense conditioner as a leave in conditioner??

    • Yes, CG for kids is great since it removes usage of products with harmful chemicals. I suggest you try better conditioners on your 10 year old; if you give me your budget, I will accordingly suggest.
